Yoga Teacher Training
Welcome to Kranti Yoga School
"Group Photo Yoga Teacher Training 2013"
Kranti Yoga School is delighted to offer you a 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training Course (Residential) accredited by The Yoga Alliance in
Ashtanga Yoga and Vinyasa Flow
The Kranti Yoga Teacher Training Course is a comprehensive Yoga Alliance approved 200 hours program run over 4 weeks. The course is designed to initiate students onto the path of yoga and prepare one to teach others. It is a rewarding way to deepen your understanding of yoga, awaken your inner teacher and gain an internationally recognised teaching certification. The course is a stepping stone to becoming a yoga teaching professional and the training itself gives all participants a solid foundation in the teachings of yoga. We offer a program that is presented in a fun and relaxed, modern and progressive environment. Students should be prepared to be mentally and physically challenged. Classes vary from physically vigorous to softer and more restorative sessions. You will be encouraged to follow and Ayurvedic diet to improve your overall sense of wellbeing.
This course is for you if:
- you’ve done quite a bit of yoga and have a basic understanding of what Ashtanga Yoga is.
- you want to develop your own personal practice of Ashtanga Yoga and Vinyasa Flow.
- you’re ready to deepen your understanding of Yoga Philosophy, Pranayama, Anatomy, Ayurveda and diet.
- you want to awaken your inner teacher with a view to teaching in the future.
The program offers a strong foundation in Ashtanga Yoga and Vinyasa Flow, concentrating on the correct alignment of the postures of the Primary Series. Your course will start with lead classes of the Primary Series, progressing to Mysore Style as you learn the series. Technical workshops will focus on the key areas: Hip Opening, Jump Back and Back Bending. These workshops are particularly rewarding in terms of measuring the visible progress that you have made and are a reminder that yoga can be fun and interactive. This is a great contrast to the self-discipline and focus of your-self practice during Mysore Style sessions. Pranayama will also form part of your daily practice and will run alongside tutorials that will explain the breathing exercises for you to then use as part of you practice.
Classical Yoga Philosophy is interwoven throughout the program and you will be introduced to Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and the history of yoga throughout the ages. This will allow you to make your own comparisons of classical and contemporary yoga, posing the question, ‘What is Yoga?’ These sessions are a great time for philosophical debate and indeed provided a welcome insight into the views of your fellow students.
You will start to teach your peers during the first week of your training. You will start by instructing each other on a one to one basis and progress to devising and delivering your own lesson plan. Each week, we will provide tools for you to develop your teaching skills, facilitating you to build your own yoga class that you will teach during the final week. You will be assessed on this during the last week of the course. Our students always find this a particularly memorable week as you teach the lesson that you have prepared during the course of the 4 weeks. Participating in each other’s classes and providing constructive feedback for your peers is a great way to learn and supports our ethos that learning is sharing.
Kranti Yoga brings together yoga lovers from different countries and backgrounds to share a journey that very often leads to dramatic life changes and the beginning of life-long friendships. We invite you to explore your yoga philosophies, develop your yoga practice and teaching skills, follow an Ayurvedic lifestyle, make friends, have fun, rest and rejuvenate. We are looking forward to welcoming you into our shala.
